Information About the Affordable Care Act
When the Affordable Care Act starts on January 1, 2014, everyone must have health insurance. If you’re one of the nearly 1 million uninsured in our state, you can now begin shopping for an insurance plan that fits your needs and budget—you may even qualify for low-cost or free insurance.

How to sign up
You can enroll in several ways:

  • compare plans and enroll yourself on the state’s wahealthplanfinder.org
  • call 1-855-WAFINDER (1-855-923-4633) or TTY/TTD 1-855-627-9604

You can also receive local assistance:

  • if you live in Kitsap County, the Kitsap Public Health District and several community agency partners, including Harrison Medical Center, will have certified Assisters to help you sign up
    • to talk to an Assister, call Harrison Medical Center at 360-744-5676 Monday through Sunday, from 8 am to 6 pm, or call the health district at 360-337-5235, Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 4 pm
  • If you live in Mason, Jefferson, or Clallam counties, contact CHOICE Regional Health Network

A Community Resource

Peninsula Community Health Services (PCHS) offers low-cost medical and dental services through clinics in Bremerton, Port Orchard, and Poulsbo. Fees are on a sliding scale based on income. PCHS also accepts DSHS medical coupons as well as Healthy Options, Basic Health, Medicare, TriCare and other private insurance reimbursements. For information, call 360-377-3776, or visit pchsweb.org.
