Whether you’ve been recently diagnosed with diabetes or you’ve been living with the disease for many years, Harrison’s Diabetes programs will teach you skills to help avoid complications and live well. Ask your physician if you could benefit from Harrison’s Diabetes programs. Most insurance companies cover the cost.

Diabetes Self-Management program is accredited by the American Diabetes Association and offers healthful meal planning, glucose monitoring, medication management, and other coping skills to help you manage the disease so it doesn’t manage you.

The Diabetes Self-Management program includes:

  • a one-day, comprehensive group class led by a team of specialists, including a certified diabetes educator
  • individual consultations with a certified diabetes educator to address your specific needs

My Diabetes! is a program for adults who have Type 2 diabetes and need help managing their condition. Whether you are newly diagnosed with diabetes or simply want to learn more about living and coping with diabetes, this program is for you. Download our brochure.

The My Diabetes! program includes:
  • individual consultations
  • one all-day group class, covering:
    • Diabetes diagnosis
    • weight management
    • healthy eating
    • carbohydrate control
    • exercise and activity
    • blood glucose monitoring
    • Diabetes medications
    • low blood sugar
    • high blood sugar

Harrison also offers the following:
  • individual diabetes and nutritional counseling sessions
  • insulin training
  • insulin pump training
  • continuous glucose monitoring (professional trial or personal equipment)
  • Gestational diabetes education, classes offered bi-monthly
  • Type 2 Diabetes Support Groups
