Interim President, Harrison Medical Center
Kurt Schley, President for St. Anthony Hospital and CHI Franciscan Health’s executive for oncology, hospice and nephrology services, assumed the role of Interim President for Harrison Medical Center on October 7.
Kurt Schley has been president of St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor since February 2012.
Prior to joining CHI Franciscan Health, he held leadership positions at Memorial Healthcare System in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Like Franciscan, Memorial Healthcare is affiliated with Catholic Health Initiatives, a national non-profit health system based in Englewood, Colorado.
Schley also served as senior vice president and chief operating officer at Hutcheson Medical Center in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia., and as vice president and chief operating officer at Saint Joseph Healthcare in Lexington, Kentucky.
He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and a master’s degree in hospital administration from the University of Missouri in Columbia.
He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Schley will remain in place during the nationwide search for a new President of Harrison Medical Center. This search began in late May, following the retirement announcement of Bosch. It is anticipated his successor will be named by this fall or early winter 2014.
