  • Follow any pre-surgery instructions you receive, like fasting for 12 hours or refraining from smoking.
  • Do not drink alcohol 24 hours before surgery.
  • Provide as much medical history as you can, including information about allergies and medications you take.
  • Ask questions about your procedure and follow-up treatment.
  • On the day of your surgery,wear loose, comfortable clothing and low-heeled shoes. Do not wear contact lenses or jewelry.
  • Have a plan for when you are discharged from the hospital.
