To promote a healthy, cancer-free community, Harrison hosts annual health screening events for the most prevalent cancer diagnoses in our community, including lung, colon, breast, skin, and other types of cancers.
For patients who have been diagnosed with cancer, we offer ongoing support groups for patients and their families to help them cope with their diagnoses, treatments, and recoveries.
Harrison also partners with the American Cancer Society in sponsoring walk teams for four community Relay for Life events to raise money for cancer research.
A Women’s Health Screening Fund has also been created by the Harrison Medical Center Foundation that will help women access potentially life-saving screenings for cancer. The fund extends the safety net that already exists in our community by working with local, contracted providers.
