Ted Bayer got the news that he had a moderately aggressive prostate cancer in May of 2009. His doctor encouraged to read up on his options before making a decision.
At first, he preferred surgery. But to his wife’s relief, more consultation convinced him that complicating factors likely made radiation therapy a better choice, Bayer explains, and the 10-year outcomes nearly matched.
“I told my wife, ‘this is a no-brainer’,” Bayer says.
