Universal Newborn Hearing Screening at Harrison
Can your baby hear?
A simple and safe test is now available to check hearing in baby's first days of life. This test is important for families, because much can be done if hearing loss is caught early. In fact, babies who are identified and receive treatment by six months of age have the opportunity to develop speech and language skills close to their peers. Without screening, the average age at which hearing loss is identified is between 2 and 3.
Harrison is proud to take part in offering the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening (UNHS) on behalf of your infant. Along with the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Audiologists, we believe hearing screenings are an important part of every newborn's health exam.
We are grateful to our local Lions Club for funding the Universal Newborn Hearing Screening at Harrison.
